Volunteer

Get involved in this family-friendly community event and have tons of fun! Individual and groups are needed each year to help make the Fair a success. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt and free admission to the Fair on the

day(s) they work.

 

 

 

  • General Fair Volunteer

    This crew of folks will help with pretty much everything!  Roles include Gate Ambassadors, Kids’ Coral, Greeters, Mascots & Handlers, Photographers, Runner, Stage Assistant, and Volunteer HQ!  Most of these are outside and will keep you on your feet.  However, Greeters and Volunteer HQ are both inside and have seated options.

  • Volunteer Team Leaders

    Experienced fair volunteers (3+ years) with comfort leading others are needed to serve as Team Leaders.  TL’s will provide volunteers instruction for their areas, answer questions, help with fairgoer issues, and provide breaks as needed. TL’s must commit to at least 3 volunteer shifts and attend a TL Training before the Fair.

  • Open Class Volunteers

    The Open Class exhibits provide a unique opportunity for members of the community to show off their talents in gardening, baking, arts & crafts. Open Class volunteers assist in the Main Hall with the entry process of items, serve as a judge's helper, or assist with displaying exhibits. Volunteers will attend an orientation before the fair.  Many Open Class shifts occur BEFORE the Fair.

  • Heritage/Homestead Volunteers

    Volunteers assist fairgoers as they participate in Heritage and Homestead activities. These will be located inside of the new West Wing and in the Main Hall. Activities will include games, craft skills like working a loom or leather craft, contests and demonstrations. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with fairgoers of all ages with enthusiasm. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt and free admission to the Fair on the day(s) they volunteer.

  • Volunteer Groups

    Small Groups (5-10 ppl) are needed before, during and after the Fair for a variety of projects. Tasks range from grounds work to prepare the Fairgrounds, assisting 4-H in animal competition set-ups, Gate Ambassadors during the Fair, and clean-up afterwards.
